Social Studies

Lately in social studies, we begin to talk more about current events, which do relate to history. During the school year, with the upcoming elections, laws and government was a large topic of the my social studies class this whole year. So for one of the projects that I did (and the one that I will be talking about), I made a video, along with two other teammates, about an issue that was important to us and something that we wanted the new president to address. We would soon submit the video into a competition called the C-SPAN Student Cam. The issue that my team and I addressed in the video was equal pay for women.

The reason why I believe that this is my best work was because this is something that I am really passionate about, and something that I believe should be addressed. And the fact that I had a lot of freedom on what to show, it gave me the ability to do the best that I can. Even though I did not win the competition, this is still a video that I am proud of. And since I am recently getting interested in film, this was really something that helped as a start. I was able to apply a lot of things that I learned about film. It was also one of the sincerest, and most serious videos that I have ever made. So it really shows a message that I believe conveys my best work as a student.
